federal
funding

State
San
Bernardino
has
received
$9.7
million
to
develop
and
continue
funding
three
programs
that
include
online
learning
and
technology
transfer
in
the
2003-04
federal
Defense
Appropriations
Bill
that
was
approved
by
Congress
last
week
and
will
be
sent
to
President
Bush
for
approval.

under
the

of

Jerry
Lewis,
R-Redlands,
who
represents
the
41st
Congressional
District
and
is
chairman
of
the
National
Security
Appropriations
Subcommittee,
which
has
jurisdiction
over
all
national
security
matters
including
the
entire

Classic
tees
off
Nov.
10
The
eighth
annual
Dave
Stockton
Coyote
Classic
Golf
Tournament,
conducted
each
year
to
raise
funds
for
student-athlete
scholarships
at
Cal
State
San
Bernardino,
has
been
scheduled
for
Monday,
Nov.
10,
at
PGA
of
Southern
California
at
Oak
Valley
in
Beaumont.
This
will
be
the
tournament's
second
visit
to
the
course
where
participants
will
play
the
challenging
6,800-yard,
par-72
Champions
course.
"It's
a
great
course
and
a
great
tournament,"
said
Stockton,
the
San
Bernardino
native
and
Redlands
resident
who
has
earned
more
than
$11
million
on
the
professional
golf
tour
in
his
career
and
ranks
fourth
on
the
senior
tour's
all-time
money
earnings
list.

Anthropology
Museum
shows
community
"Before
Cal
State"
Cal
State
San
Bernardino’s
newest
museum
currently
is
showing
its
inaugural
exhibit
that
takes
a
look
at
what
the
area
was
like
before
the
university
came
into
being.
The
Anthropology
Museum,
housed
on
the
third
floor
of
the
College
of
Social
and
Behavioral
Sciences
building
and
across
from
the
Robert
V.
Fullerton
Art
Museum,
celebrated
its
official
opening
in
the
spring
and
is
currently
showing
“Before
Cal
State.”
The
collection
examines
the
history
of
the
communities
that
surround
the
campus,
which
opened
to
students
in
1965.
Designed
by
anthropology
Professor
Russell
Barber,
with
help
from
students
and
alumni,
the
exhibit
explores
the
past
human
occupation
and
the
use
of
the
land
that
currently
houses
Cal
State
San
Bernardino.
The
exhibit
features
artifacts
from
the
one-room
Fairview
School
house
and
examines
the
history
of
the
Native
Americans
who
lived
in
the
area.

and

Arts

founder

the
spotlight
Dr.
Ron
Barnes,
professor
emeritus,
will
be
recognized
for
his
years
of
teaching
and
leadership
role
in
developing
Cal
State’s
theatre
arts
program,
at
a
ceremony
naming
the
university
theatre
in
his
honor.
The
Ronald
E.
Barnes
Theatre
will
be
dedicated
on
January
11,
2004,
at
1:00
p.m.,
in
the
CSUSB
Performing
Arts
Center.
Former
students,
colleagues
and
theatre
patrons
are
invited
to
the
naming
celebration.
Jody

is
gathering
memories
and
anecdotes
about
Dr.
Barnes
and
will
share
those
at
the
celebration.

are
encouraged

Project
Steering
Committee,

up
of
alumni,
former
and
current

theatre

establishing
The
Ronald
E.
Barnes
Scholarship
Endowment
to
create
a
living
legacy
in
Dr.
Barnes’
honor.
The
$100,000
endowment
will
provide
scholarships
for
talented
theatre
arts
students
who
demonstrate
academic
excellence.

most

included
four

reality

a

a

music
specials
and
three
live-action
teen
series.
Nicole
previously
served
as
director,
corporate
public

at

Broadcasting
Company
(FBC),
where
she
managed
the
