CSUSB’s Model United
Nations student delegation earned top honors this year at the National Model
United Nations Conference in New York City. The team, which represented Iraq in
this simulation of the Model United Nations, brought home “Outstanding
Delegation” and “Outstanding Position Paper” awards. The university’s MUN
program, under the direction of Dr. Ralph Salmi (political science),
consistently ranks first in this annual conference, which draws over 200 teams
from colleges and universities around the world. |

Palm Desert nursing program receives $240,000 grant
The California
Wellness Foundation, which provides grants for health promotion, wellness
education and disease prevention, has awarded a three-year $240,000 grant to Cal
State San Bernardino's Palm Desert Campus to support nursing education.

Graphic design student Amara Poolswasdi's logo design was
selected as the official logo of the 2007 Special Olympics Southern California

Join the EOP
Alumni Chapter on April 28 for a Primm Valley turnaround! The bus departs CSUSB
at 7:00 a.m., bound for Buffalo Bill's Casino in Primm, NV, and will return to
campus by 11:00 p.m. Ticket price is $45 and includes: one-day parking
permit at CSUSB, food and non-alcoholic beverages while on the bus, and a buffet
coupon good at any of the Primm Valley Resort buffets.

Grad Days scheduled for Class of 2007 graduates
Grad Days offers “one-stop shopping”
for Class of 2007 graduates! The Alumni Association and the
Coyote Bookstore will welcome the Class of 2007 into the CSUSB alumni family at
Grad Days, April 24 and 25, from
10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Coyote Bookstore, and April 26, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.,
at the Palm Desert Campus bookstore.

Robert T. Bouttier
'77
Robert T.
Bouttier (B.A. management 1977) was named president and chief operating
officer for the Automobile Club of Southern California. Bob, a 32-year veteran
of the Auto Club, will oversee the daily operations of the largest
AAA-affiliated motor club in the country. Starting as an insurance claim
representative with the Auto Club, Bob has held increasingly responsible
positions, including marketing director, and senior vice president of marketing
and member services. He serves on the board of the Los Angeles Sports Council
and also is a director of AAA Life Insurance Company.
