Coyote Chronicle, CSUSB’s weekly student newspaper, won top honors at the California College Media Association annual awards ceremony, which recognizes the best in student journalism.  The Chronicle earned first place for Best Special Section for its coverage of the wildfires in the San Bernardino Mountains last fall.

Lois Carson (B.A. English 1967)  and Ellen Gaynor Weisser (B.A. English 1968)each received 2008 Woman of the Year recognition as part of Women’s History Month.  Lois was honored by Assemblymember Wilmer Amina Carter (D-Rialto) for her pioneering work in education and helping low-income families.  Ellen was recognized by Assemblymember Bill Emmerson (R-Redlands) for her years of community service and support for education and health care.
