Governor
names CSUSB alumnus as one of three CSU Trustees
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has appointed Cal
State San Bernardino graduate Lou Monville
to serve on the California State University Board of Trustees.
Monville, who graduated in 1994 with a
bachelor’s degree in communication studies, is a former president of the
Associated Students Inc. at CSUSB and the current Cal State San Bernardino
Alumni Association president-elect. He was named to the CSU board on Thursday,
along with Kenneth Fong of Atherton and Glen Toney of Chico.
Monville is the first Inland Empire resident
to be named to an appointed (non-student) position on the Board of Trustees of
the California State University, which includes 23 campuses throughout the
state.
Previously, two Cal State San Bernardino
students also have served as CSU student trustees. Rialto resident Corey
Jackson, who will graduate this weekend, is
concluding his second year of a two-year appointment. Kevin Gallagher
served as a student trustee from 1978-80.
