Cal State San Bernardino
commencements a roaring success
The number of students
participating in commencement ceremonies June 16-18 was among the highest in the
university's recent history. Sixty-three percent, or 2,128 students of the 3,343
eligible, actually marched, university officials said.

Summer Wednesdays Concert
Series kicks off July 5 with Latin Society
Wednesday evenings will sizzle once again at Cal State San Bernardino when the
university hosts its popular free Summer Wednesday concert series, beginning
July 5. For four consecutive weeks the lawn area outside the Lower Commons on
campus will jump, jive, rock, roll and swing to the sounds of the Latin Society,
Hot Rocks, The Phat Cat Swinger and the Frienz Band.

contributes $4.5 million toward Health Sciences building; structure to be named
for the city
The California State University
Board of Trustees approved naming the fourth building at Cal State San
Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus the Palm Desert Health Sciences Building in
honor of a $4.5 million contribution from the city.

participate in all-star basketball program this summer at CSUSB
Former Los Angeles Laker and NBA All-Star Vlade Divac and NBA All-Star Peja
Stojakovic of the Indiana Pacers will be at California State University, San
Bernardino from July 17-21 to host a basketball camp for youngsters ages 8 to
17.

Fall quarter
Admissions remain open for all eligible applicants hoping to enroll at Cal State
San Bernardino for the fall quarter, including first-time freshmen, lower- and
upper-division transfer students, international and out-of-state students,

2006 Alumni Scholars
Three top students from Inland Empire high schools will join the CSUSB family
this fall as Alumni Scholars. Ashley Hicks of Rancho Cucamonga,
Maddie Pulido of Fontana, and Britani Haynie of Ontario each were
chosen to receive the Alumni Association’s $12,000 merit scholarship.

Graduation is a family event for
Coyote athlete and his mother
The Simmons family
was in attendance at not one, but two graduation ceremonies at Cal State San
Bernardino this June. Erik, a three-year member of the Coyotes' baseball team,
received his bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in entrepreneurial
management while his mother, Amy Simmons, received her degree in communications.

Water Polo's Freyja Beg named
Division D-II All-America
Cal
State San Bernardino sophomore water polo player Freyja Berg has been named to
the 2006 NCAA Division II All-America water polo team by vote of the Association
of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches. Berg was a key factor in the Coyotes 24-18
season that culminated with a fifth-place finish at the 12-team Western Water
Polo Association championships.

Ericka
Nunez-Paddock '98
Ericka
Nunez-Paddock, B.A. communications 1998, is the new director of Student Life at
Crafton Hills College in Yucaipa. She will be responsible for creating
engaging opportunities for student involvement in campus life.
Ericka
previously was the Program Coordinator of Student Leadership and Development at
CSUSB, responsible for the Leadership Academy, Health and Wellness Institute and
Peer Health Educators, and advising the Student Union Program Board. Ericka was
the keynote speaker for the Access 2005 Disability Awareness Program.
Ericka is a founding
member of the CSUSB Alumni Association's newly-formed EOP Alumni Chapter.
