Dr. Dev GnanaDev '01

Dr.
Appannagari “Dev” GnanaDev (M.B.A. 2001) was honored by the American Medical
Association at its 2007 Excellence in Medicine Awards program earlier this
month in Washington, D.C. Dr. GnanaDev, a surgeon and director of the
Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, was one of only four physicians
nationwide to receive a Pride in Profession Award, which recognizes the
contributions of exemplary physicians who work in underserved areas or
sacrifice their time for volunteer or public service efforts.
Dr.
GnanaDev started the free cardiac rehabilitation program at the medical
center for patients who lack health insurance; worked with local
firefighters to create the Inland Empire Burn Institute; spearheaded a
campaign to win approval for the new state-of-the-art medical center to
replace a crumbling county facility; and founded New Beginnings, a laser
tattoo-removal program that helps former gang members erase the inky stigma
of their past lives.
