Admissions remain open for CSUSB’s fall 2005 quarter for all categories of eligible students.  Cal State alumni and friends often have contact with some of the most promising students from the region and around the world.  We encourage you to share with the Alumni Association the names and contact information of prospective first-time freshmen, transfer or graduate students.  Please email us at alumni@csusb.edu and allow us to facilitate an introduction, or direct students to apply online at www.csumentor.edu.

Celebrate Earth Day at Environmental EXPO

Cal State SB’s award-winning Environmental EXPO returns to Coussoulis Arena on Saturday, April 23.  More than 10,000 people are expected for this annual Earth Day event, which will feature water festival fun for kids, entertainment, a food court and educational activities.  Read the full story...

Literacy Center golf tournament tees off June 6

The College of Education will hold its inaugural Literacy Center Golf Tournament on Monday, June 6, at the Arrowhead Country Club.  Tournament proceeds will be used to provide fee waivers for participating children and their families at the university’s new literacy center, which helps kids improve and enhance their reading skills.  Click here to get more information about registration and sponsorship opportunities… 

Alumna artist showcased at Riverside reception

Leilani Child Wilds (B.A. art 1997) and Dr. Dennis Wilds opened their Riverside home and Ruby Press Studio to alumni and friends on April 17 to showcase Leilani’s artworks and those of CSUSB students.  The reception, which was sponsored in part by the Alumni Association, included a monoprinting demonstration by Leilani and a silent and live auction to benefit the Art Department.  Click here for the full story and to view the photo gallery.  For a virtual tour of Leilani’s work, visit www.leilaniart.com.

Music Department gala to feature eclectic tastes, sounds

The CSUSB Music Department will host its First Annual Gala and Scholarship Event on May 26, 2005 and will feature performances by the Chamber Winds, Chamber Singers, Guitar Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and more. The CSUSB Jazz Ensemble will follow these performances with some Big Band music, converting the space into an open-air dance floor. The evening will culminate in a live auction of the Ensemble’s performing services, and a series of silent auctions will be conducted throughout the evening.  Click here to read the full story…
